FOCUS- Incorporating Swedish, deep tissue, dermo-neuromodulation and myofascial techniques, I specialize in customizing massage for relaxation, pain reduction and stress relief. I'm a graduate of the Holistic Massage Training Institute and regularly take continuing education classes in various massage modalities, ethics, diversity training and implicit bias.
I believe that EveryBody deserves a massage. My practice is welcoming to LGBTQI+ folks, body positive and gender affirming.
I'm interested in the science of massage, as opposed to myths (no, you do not need to drink lots of water after a massage (unless you are thirsty), no, there are no toxins released by massage (your liver and kidneys take care of that) and no, massage does not increase overall circulation (your heart is your circulatory pump; most likely your heart rate will decrease during massage). If that kind of stuff interests you too, please check out my guru, Paul Ingraham at painscience.com.
I've been married to my husband since 1997. We have 4 children and 7 grandchildren between us. Our hobbies include working in our gardens and on our 200+ year old house!
Looking forward to partnering with you in your self-care journey.
